Faces In The Crowd

I didn't get their names, just a few photos of kindred spirits and faces in the crowd at McSorley's. All nice people, all at McSorley's.

Thanks to Pepe for being a world class host and bartender and to everyone in McSorley's. If you've never been in the daytime, you need to check it out!

A Tour of McSorley's

You might remember the Duncester from MAD, he was in the neighborhood and stopped by for a beer!

The Duncester took a shot of me at work. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it! Okay, let's take a little tour of the joint.

One of the classic wooden, round tables at McSorley's. If it could talk it would probably throw me out for live-blogging in here!

The wooden saloon's floors complete with sawdust.

Historical photos and cippings line the walls. I could spend a week in here looking at them.

Hats and knick-knacks and what-nots behind the bar.

Buttons!

Turkey bones from days gone by. The DOH in all their wisdom forced McSorley's to clean them. You can read about it here.

The wood-burning stove in the middle of the front room warms the joint up.

A working pay phone! Something that's disappearing fast from modern day bars.

A view from the back room.

Cheers!

A Cheesy Moment At McSorley's

It's time for a snack, let's check out the menu!

I decided on the small cheese plate and I've moved to the bar. There's the legendary McSorley's mustard.

It's really tasty and really spicy.

Gumby's relaxing down at the footrail.

The bar is starting to fill up a little bit.

And here it is, the cheese and crackers plate. Ta-da! (To quote Biff!)

Delicious! I hope it brings back memories to Martin! See you in a bit. When I come back we'll take a little tour of the joint!
